      Things you need to know...

Your child will have their own pocket in the locker area to store their bits and pieces. This is also where you will find copies of our newsletter and trip notices as well as your weekly invoice.

On arrival and departure at the centre, we ask you to sign the attendance register beside your tamariki name.

      Food

As part of our programme we like to explore baking and cooking. We strongly encourage our children to make healthy choices about the kai they eat.

Please advise us of any allergies your child may have, or any foods that you do not wish your child to receive and we will ensure we incorporate these into the childs health plan.

Depending on your attendance times, your child will also need morning tea / lunch and afternoon tea. We really encourage healthy eating and would be keen to talk through our health policy with you in more detail.

      Animals

Animals are a big part of the education at Farmyard Preschool and we will encourage your child to have a go at bottle feeding animals as well as learn to care for them. Our animals include chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and birds and during the spring a lamb plus a kid goat when available. We will also give your child the opportunity to learn to ride on minature horses.

Your child will have a fun, unique learning experience with us that will last a lifetime. At Farmyard Preschool we really encourage learning through hands on experiences.

      What to Bring

There is no formal dress code at the preschool but we do advise you to bring spare clothing that are appropriate for the season. We encourage children to explore and we do encourage the use of aprons however clothes may come home with a bit of paint or dirt!

You will need to provide your own nappies if required and we also recommend spare changes of underwear.

Your child will also require morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea depending on their length of stay with us.
